Scientific Games has joined forces with the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) to promote responsible gaming during the holiday season. Their “Give Responsibly. Lottery is Not a Child’s Play” campaign aims to deter the gifting of lottery tickets to young people.
The initiative, which has garnered participation from lotteries across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australasia, seeks to raise awareness about the potential risks associated with minors engaging in lottery play.
Scientific Games has been a steadfast supporter of this campaign since 2018, making it the sole lottery provider to actively participate. The campaign enjoys the backing of the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) and the World Lottery Association (WLA).
“We are deeply appreciative of Scientific Games’ ongoing commitment to this crucial responsible gambling campaign,” stated Keith Whyte, Executive Director of the NCPG. “Suppliers play a pivotal role in providing responsible gambling services to their lottery patrons and educating their workforce.”
Kara Shaffer, the Vice President of Ethical Gaming at Scientific Games, stated that lottery games are not designed for minors, so the firm is pleased to back this effort once more.
“Social accountability, honesty, and openness are fundamental principles at Scientific Games, and we are delighted to continue to support and stand with our lottery clients and the National Council on Problem Gambling to encourage responsible gaming across the lottery sector,” Shaffer remarked.
“Lottery games are created for amusement and are meant to be enjoyed by grown-ups. Lottery games are never a child’s pastime, and we encourage everyone to share this crucial message during the holiday season and always.”
