The Kindred Group has renewed its association with Women in Racing (WIR), a group focused on promoting women in the horse racing field.
Kindred will continue to back WIR’s “Racing Home” initiative, which aims to teach and enable stakeholders in the horse racing sector about parenthood.
Kindred, through its Unibet and 32Red brands, is involved in the program by providing aid to working parents in the horse racing industry related to pregnancy, maternity leave, paternity leave, adoption, shared parenting leave, flexible work arrangements, self-employment, and statutory pay.
The next stage of the “Racing Home” program involves the launch of a new online learning platform offering expert guidance for mothers returning to riding after giving birth, as well as a new series of podcasts hosted by equestrian veterinarian and podcast producer Naomi Mellor.
Henrik Tjärnström, Chief Executive Officer of Kindred, stated: “The objectives of the Racing Home platform are closely aligned with Kindred’s sustainability strategy and our aspiration to achieve a 50:50 gender balance in senior management.”
“It is crucial for us to provide our staff with a positive work-life balance and a supportive work environment, as we believe this is how they can perform at their peak.”
We are excited to collaborate with Women in Racing to participate in their Racing Home initiative, which is designed to provide support to parents within the racing industry.
Talulah Lewis, Chair of Women in Racing, stated, “Women in Racing is extremely proud to partner with Kindred Group and introduce our Racing Home project. Our research has indicated that mothers and parents in the racing industry encounter significant obstacles.
“Extensive research and online discussions over the past two years have prompted Women in Racing to collaborate with Simply Racing and industry leaders to identify practical solutions that will positively impact the work-life balance of numerous individuals. We believe these programs will have a substantial positive effect on a large number of people.”
