Fanatics has appointed Andrea Ellis to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for their sports wagering and internet gaming branch, Fanatics Betting and Gaming (FBG).
Ellis will be a crucial member of the executive team and will supervise all facets of FBG’s fiscal matters. This encompasses overseeing financial projections and evaluation, bookkeeping, resource allocation, taxation, and ensuring expenditures remain within budget. She will report directly to Matt King, FBG’s CEO. Her position is vital in shaping strategies across the company, particularly in the areas of payment management and fraud prevention.
Matt King conveyed his enthusiasm about Ellis joining the company, emphasizing her remarkable history of achievements. He believes her expertise in spearheading financial and expansion initiatives at prominent consumer brands, particularly during periods of transformation, will be indispensable to FBG’s enduring prosperity and international growth.
Before joining Fanatics, Ellis held the CFO position at Lime, the electric scooter and bicycle sharing enterprise. Previous to Lime, she held a progression of increasingly senior positions at Restaurant Brands International (RBI), the parent organization of Burger King, Tim Hortons, and Popeyes. Her responsibilities at RBI included directing investor relations and global financial planning, acting as CFO and interim head of retail for Tim Hortons, and even serving as General Manager for Popeyes.
Ellis is thrilled to be collaborating with Matt and the exceptional team at Fanatics’ wagering department. He’s eager to immerse himself in the realm of online sports platforms and contribute to Fanatics’ supremacy in the international market. He’s consistently sought the ideal intersection of his passions for finance, technology, and consumer products. As a devoted sports enthusiast, he recognizes this as a golden opportunity.”
