A prominent UK online gambling platform, Bet365, is disconnecting its traditional phone betting services. Citing dwindling customer engagement, the company is shifting its focus entirely to digital platforms, mirroring the changing habits of modern bettors.
This decision comes as no shock, given the declining popularity of phone-based wagering. Even firms that continue to offer this service observe a negligible contribution to their overall revenue. For instance, GVC Holdings recently disclosed that phone bets constituted a mere £2.7 million out of their total £662 million earnings.
Bet365 is well-positioned to make this transition, already dominating the UK’s online betting market. Data from SEMrush reveals a staggering 20.9 million visits to their platform in April alone. Their dominance extends beyond the UK, with the company also leading the pack in Brazil, surpassing competitors like Sportingbet.
